We're in the port of Zeebrugge for the final day of our Resilient Lady cruise. Like most regular cruises who are UK based we've visited this port quite a few times and its really well located for some beautiful Belgian cities like Ghent and Bruges.

Exploring Blankenburge

This time, we decided to visit Blankenburge. We’d been before, but always in winter. Now, with warmer weather, we hoped to find some lively beach bars. We took the port shuttle to Zeebrugge and then hopped on a tram into town for just €2.50, which dropped us off near the pier. We enjoyed the beautiful beach area, with people soaking up the sun, and beach bars open for business.

Feeling hungry, we indulged in a classic Belgian treat, fries with mayo. Laura, not a fan of mayo, opted for ketchup instead! We grabbed a large portion from a takeaway stand, sitting on a wall to enjoy them. The portion was huge, but it was a tasty treat while we continued to explore the town.

We made our way to the shuttle bus stop to return to the port. The bus system required a change at the port building, but it was straightforward.

Another Rose Cancelled!

Back on board, we couldn’t resist some ice cream, but as we were enjoying our treat, we got a notification, our Another Rose booking was canceled! Another Rose is a cabaret style show that includes drinks and dinner.

Panic set in as we knew it’d be difficult to secure a reservation for any of the restaurants. We checked the app and could only find availability for Razzle Dazzle and as we'd already eaten there twice this week we didn't want to eat there again. Lizzy messaged Sailor Services, and they quickly secured us a spot at Pink Agave which was perfect since we love that restaurant!

Another Cocktail Party

Before dinner, we attended the Deep Blue Extras cocktail party, where the drinks flowed freely. We met Lizzy Lou there and had a great time socialising. Virgin Voyages is very generous with their free drink offerings, making for a fun and relaxed time.

Pink Agave

After the party, we headed back to our cabin to get changed for our dinner at Pink Agave. We ordered our favourites, corn and guacamole, chicken enchilada, shrimp, and some tasty potatoes with chorizo to start. We stuck to the same mains as on our previous visit as we'd enjoyed them so much. As it was our last night we decided to treat ourselves to dessert. Wetried the famous chocolate tacos and some bread pudding, both dishes were fantastic.

Persephone

After dinner, we packed our bags and made sure everything was ready for disembarkation before heading back out to enjoy the rest of our night. We headed to the Red Room where the fantastic team onboard were performing in Persephone. The performance was extraordinary, talented cast members, stunning singing, and dancing. The immersive experience in the room was one of the best shows we’ve ever seen on a cruise.

It's worth noting that the majority of passengers will need to stand to watch this show, so make sure you've got your comfy shoes on. Our feet were killing us after a week of dancing so we appreciated the flat shoes we'd worn.

After the show, we headed to On the Rocks to wind down. There was an 80s party going on at Club Rubik’s, but we were too exhausted to join in. We opted to keep it low key and relaxed for our last night.

Disembarkation Day

We chose an early disembarkation time of 9am as Laura had to get home for work. The process was smooth and easy. After grabbing pastries from Grounds Club (a croissant for Lizzu, and a pan au chocolat for Laura), we made our way to the gangway. The gangway was very steep once again so were glad we hadn't opted to carry our own luggage off and we were relieved to find our suitcases waiting for us in the baggage hall.

We jumped into a taxi and headed back to the car. Parking at Morrison's had been a great deal, and our car survived the week on the supermarket car park. We had a fantastic time onboard Resilient Lady and would love to do another Virgin Voyages cruise in the future. If you want to see our day in more detail, give our video a watch below.
